Several storage vendors provide a specific plugin for vCenter Server in order to integrate some storage functionalities, such as monitoring, disk provisioning, storage snapshots management, and so on. For example, the following screenshot shows the Dell-EMC EqualLogic integration with the new menu (Volume, Protection, Recovery) inside the vSphere Web Client. Under the Volume and Snapshot Space, it is possible to monitor the storage snapshots as shown in the following screenshot:

Some plugins already work on the HTML5 client, others only with the vSphere Web Client. But for the future, they will have to move to HTML5 client or the VASA framework.
