VVDs are documents available to both customers and partners, but for the latter there are also other types of specific documents useful for the planning, design, and implementation phases of a virtualization project.

VMware’s solution partners may have access, depending on their competencies, to the SETs covering several different types of projects and different VMware products. Also, if VVDs remain the more integrated and completed documents, SETs could provide more information or specific tools, such as for the assessment part.

The more interesting SETs are:

• SDDC Assess, Design, and Deploy (actually updated to vCloud Suite 6.0)
• Virtualization Design and Deploy (already updated to vSphere 6.5)
• Operational readiness for cloud computing
• vSphere Upgrade (in this case, the related part of VVD provide better information)
• Performance and Capacity Management Design and Deploy

More and more are available (or will be available) for specific topics and use cases.
