Developing a Promotional Mix

The company you work for, Fit Foods, is launching a new product, Shine Breakfast Bars, which are all-natural, vitamin-fortified granola bars. The company has enlisted you and your teammates to design an optimal promotional mix for this product.

Process

  1. Step 1. Assemble into teams of four. Each team member should be assigned as the “lead” for one of the four components of the promotional mix—advertising, public relations, personal selling, or sales promotions.

  2. Step 2. Develop a promotional mix for Shine Breakfast Bars that integrates each promotional component. What will be the key aspects of the advertising campaign? What media will be used? What public relations tools will be used? What will a sales pitch for this product consist of? How will sales promotions be implemented?

  3. Step 3. Summarize the key points of the promotional mix plan in a poster or PowerPoint presentation.

  4. Step 4. Present your findings to the class for discussion.
