Socially responsible investing describes a strategy of investing in companies that favor practices that are environmentally responsible, support workplace diversity, and increase product safety and quality. Avoiding investing in businesses involved sale of alcohol, tobacco, guns, military weapons, and so forth can also be part of such a strategy.
Step 1. On your own or with a partner, research several individual companies and mutual funds that would qualify as socially responsible investments.
Step 2. In one or two paragraphs, comment on whether this type of investment strategy is a sound investment strategy.
