Abstract:
This paper proposes a low power design with all the essential components of an Internet of Things (IoT)
node. In the first phase, an optimized processor is developed for the implementation of application layer as well
as network layer. This is done from the already available LEON2 processor by the method of reduction of hard-
ware. A router application is compiled using the Buildroot compiler and verified using Q-Emulator (QEMU).
Moving on to the second phase, a complete hardware advent on the Zigbee MAC Layer and Physical layer
is done for IoT devices. As the communication between dierent IoT Wireless Sensor Nodes are considered,
the major way of communication is via Zigbee transceiver that has been built on the foundation laid by IEEE
802.15.4 standard specified physical layer and MAC Layer. Among these two, major eorts are being focussed
on the MAC Layer to reduce power consumption in the node by converting this module into hardware as the
power consumed in this module is too large compared to the physical layer.
SUMMARY
There are various elements involved in IoT implementation and one should consider various
factors when thinking about an IoT deployment to avoid failure rates.

and best practices for eective IoT testing. We will also explore various testing tools.
