a Raspberry Pi or a dual-core board for their requirements. The only requirements for these
components are some basic coding, power supply, Ethernet, and IP address. The kit is used to
establish connection with the primary Predix systems and initiates the transmission of data
from IoT-based equipments. While consumers exploit data from these frameworks for their
uses, GE focuses on the administration of software and hardware on the behalf of the client.
The kit is revolutionary because of other IoT environments. In other cases, programmers
have to rely on individual software tools for each IoT equipment and program it separately.
Likewise, this also means that each device has to be overseen on individual basis. Predix’s kit
quashes all these out-dated practices by its unified solution and therefore is valuable in saving a
lot of valuable time for the clients.
AWS IoT
AWS IoT facilitates bi-directional communication between all IoT related devices with optimum
security. Whether, it is an embedded microcontroller, an actuator, or a sensor; AWS IoT works
for all.
Following are the key components of AWS IoT:
• Device gateway: It is used to authorize devices for efficient and secure communication
with the AWS IoT framework.
• Message broker: It offers a safe medium for applications and devices to send and
receive messages. For this purpose, the MQTT protocol is used for subscription and
publishing. The HTTP REST interface is used for publishing only.
