VARIOUS DESIGN PATTERNS
Design Patterns for Common IoT Deployments
Some design patterns are so commonly observed in many IoT deployments that you can
consider them as fundamental design patterns for IoT.
Network Connected Devices (Things)
Problem
In an embedded device, network connectivity may not be available. For example, traditional
washing machines and microwaves. Sharing of intelligence and data among these embedded
systems are not possible.
Solution
In order to share intelligence and data among these embedded systems, we need to add
connectivity. This will enable these devices to communicate with each other and external
system which will orchestrate and monitor the communication which is taking place among
these devices.

Think of a common problem from your day to day life and apply a design pattern to solve
it. For example, road traffic, dirty washrooms, train delays, unorganized bus lanes, water
