EXPLORING THE WORLD OF AI
AI is not a new field but getting a lot of attention recently and evolving at a faster rate. It is
penetrating our lives in every field. Before we can discuss if AI can be a good add-on to IoT, we
have to see what it really means by AI and how it works.
What is AI?
AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, a field of study, which focuses on putting human intelligence
into machines. Applying human intelligence to machines requires a lot of information gathering,
setting up rules to make use of this information, find the approximate or definite conclusion and
correct it based on the results. There are multiple fields in which AI is used. It gives the ability to
a machine or a computer program to think and learn by itself. Some activities that computers
with artificial intelligence are meant to do are:
• Speech recognition,
• Learning,
• Planning, and
• Problem solving.
The success of IoT has led it to become involved
with multiple hot technologies. It is being paired
with the most popular IT technologies like AI,
data analytics and machine learning. Asaresult,
IoT is revolutionizing the world with applications
in governments, health, and manufacturing,
automotive. Going by the recent developments in
the IoT space, the next few decades may entirely
change the world we live in.
