The testing and acceptance phase

In the testing phase, the implementation team should address the following:

  • Test plan: This is a planning document that covers the details of what test scenarios are present, who will do test, and when the test is expected to be done.
  • Test scenarios: These could be kept at end-end business processes, for example, record to report.
  • Test cases: These are the breakdowns of test scenarios into their details to suggest what the test steps are, what inputs are to be used, and what the expected output should be.
  • Issue logs: As part of the test result capturing, if a test fails, it should have a corresponding issue representing the details of failure for tracking purpose and closure.

After testing the solution, it is now ready for training the end users in the training phase.

In Chapter 11, Testing and Training, we will cover details of testing and various tooling available and the timing of the usage of such tools.
