Business events endpoints

Endpoints basically define the destination where business events are sent. Before you can activate and use business events, you must configure an endpoint. The following screenshot shows how to create an endpoint:

The following types of endpoints are currently available out of the box:

  • Azure Service Bus Queue
  • Azure Service Bus Topic
  • Azure Event Grid
  • Azure Event Hub
  • HTTPS
  • Microsoft Flow (Power Automate)
  • Azure Blob Storage

To configure an endpoint in Finance and Operations, follow these steps:

  1. Create Azure-based endpoint destinations such as Azure Event Grid or Azure Service Bus in your Azure subscription.
  2. Set up the Azure Key Vault to provide the secret to the Azure messaging resource.
  1. Store the Azure messaging service connection string value as a Key Vault Secret value.
  2. Set up Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and get the application ID and application secret.
  3. Add the Azure AD application to the Key Vault Access policies with access to Secret Management.
  4. Configure an endpoint in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operation by providing an Azure AD application key, Application secret, Key vault DNS name, Key vault secret name, and additional destination details if needed.
The purpose of using an Azure key vault is to securely store the sensitive connection strings of the Azure messaging resource. Finance and Operations connects to the Azure Key Vault using the key vault's information to retrieve the connection string. It then uses its connection string and other parameters to create a connection with the messaging resources to deliver the payload.
