Project onboarding

There is a new, simple, and structured onboarding method you can use for your project for Microsoft D365FO One Version on LCS.

Follow these steps to learn how to configure your project once you embark on your journey of D365FO:

  1. Sign in to LCS using the account that is notified that your implementation project is ready to be configured.
  2. Open the Project onboarding tool.
  3. Follow the wizard/guide to configure your project by providing the necessary details.
  1. The following screen is the first screen you'll see, and shows a welcome message. On the right of every screen, there is a details pane that provides more information, useful tips, and a URL:

  1. Select your deployment type and users by type (Operations users, Team members, Activity users, and so on):

  1. Give your project a name and provide partner details:

  1. Select the industry and implementation type (new implementation, upgrade from a prior version, and many others)
  2. Also, provide information about whether it would be using a warehouse management system (WMS) and/or retail and/or interfaces, and many others:

  1. Create and grant access to team members for useful operations on LCS:

  1. Provide milestone dates. These can be viewed on the main project screen and are super important for several reasons including capturing the start and completion dates for requirements and analysis, design, development, UAT, and go-live:

  1. Next, link your LCS project with your DevOps (earlier known as VSTS) project:

  1. Review the FastTrack program and also what to expect based on your user count:

  1. Lastly, review all the important links and resources that can help smoothen your D365FO journey:

Now that your project has been onboarded, let's learn about the different users that can be set up to work in LCS throughout the project's life.
