Opening another OneNote window

You can open another OneNote 2013 window when you want to examine notes on different pages at the same time. You can place the other window wherever you like. You can also open another window and dock it to the desktop.

To switch between open OneNote windows, use the Windows taskbar.

Open another OneNote window

  1. On the ribbon, click the View tab.

  2. In the Window group, click New Window.

  3. In the new window, in the page tabs, click a different page.

  4. On the Windows taskbar, hover the pointer over the OneNote button to see thumbnails of open OneNote windows.

  5. Click the thumbnail of the OneNote window to which you want to switch.

  6. When you finish with a particular OneNote window, click its Close button to close the window.

Tip

To keep a OneNote window (or the OneNote window, if only one window is open) on top of all other open windows, on the View tab, click the Always On Top button.

Tip

You can drag open windows on the screen. Drag them side by side to compare them, for example.
