Lists are invaluable for keeping information in notes. You can use numbered lists to rank items in a list or describe step-by-step instructions. Use bulleted lists to present alternatives or to list unranked items.
In OneNote, you don’t have to enter the numbers or bullets yourself. After you click the Numbering or Bullets button on the Home tab, OneNote numbers the list or applies bullets for you. You can choose from several numbering schemes and bullet styles.
To create a numbered or bulleted list, use one of these techniques:
Enter items for the list. (Note that each item must be in its own paragraph.) Select the items and then apply the bulleted or numbered list format.
Select a bulleted or numbered list format and then enter list items. Each time you press the Enter key to start a new line, OneNote applies a number or bullet to the list item. Press Enter twice to end the list.
On the shortcut menu, OneNote offers commands for starting new lists, continuing previous lists, removing numbers or bullets from an item in the list, and changing numbered lists to bulleted lists, and vice versa.
