Deleting tags
The Tags gallery in OneNote 2013 offers many tags. To make locating the tags you use easier, consider deleting the tags you don’t use. Tags you delete from the Tags gallery remain on notes and other items that you tagged previously. For example, if you tag notes with the Book To Read tag but subsequently delete that tag from the gallery, the Book To Read tag remains on the notes to which you originally applied it.
Delete a tag

On the ribbon, click the Home tab.

In the Tags group, click the More drop-down arrow on the Tags gallery.

Right-click the tag that you want to delete.

On the shortcut menu that appears, choose Delete This Tag.
