Creating and managing templates

You can create your own page templates as well as use the templates that come with OneNote 2013. In the Templates pane, templates you create are kept in the My Templates category.

To create a page template, either start with a template from OneNote and modify it or start with a blank page and format it to your liking. Then, save your page as a template.

If you don’t choose a template when you create a page, pages that you create with the New Page command are made with the No Default template. However, you can choose a different template as the default page that is created automatically when you create a new page in a particular section. If you’d like, you can choose a default template for each section of your notebook.

Create a page template

  1. Create a page to serve as the model for the template. On the page, include text, font, page color, and other specifications.

  2. On the ribbon, click the Insert tab.

  3. In the Pages group, click Page Templates.

  4. In the Templates pane, click Save Current Page As A Template.

  5. In the Save As Template dialog box, in the Template name text box, enter a name for the template.
