Chapter 19. Using OneNote Web App

In this section:

Anyone can use OneNote Web App, the online version of Microsoft OneNote 2013. You don’t have to pay a fee or even install Microsoft Office 2013 on your computer. All you need is an Internet connection and a Microsoft Account (formerly Windows Live ID).

OneNote Web App is an abridged version of OneNote 2013. It doesn’t offer as many commands, but it does offer an excellent opportunity to coauthor notebooks with others. Because the notebooks are kept online, not on someone’s computer, anyone with an Internet connection and a Microsoft Account can access their own notebooks and notebooks that others have shared with them. Hundreds of people can coauthor a single shared notebook. What’s more, they can work on a notebook at the same time, and if they need a command that isn’t in OneNote Web App, they can open the file in OneNote and edit it there.

You can share notebooks on SkyDrive, a free file-hosting service from Microsoft, or on Microsoft Office 365, a subscription-based service from Microsoft that provides either storage capacity on SkyDrive or a SharePoint team site designed for collaboration.
