Chapter 11. Organizing your notes

In this section:

The more notes you take, the harder it is to stay organized. Notes that should be on one page end up on another. Sometimes pages need to be moved to a different section, and sections need to be moved to a different notebook.

Microsoft OneNote 2013 offers commands for moving and copying pages and sections to different places.

Another way to stay organized and be able to locate notes is to tag them. For example, you can tag notes that require a follow-up with the Important or To Do tag. When you need to find these notes, you can run the Find Tags command. OneNote comes with a selection of readymade tags, and you can create customized tags for your needs.

To help identify notebook and sections, you can color-code them. Devise a color scheme for assigning colors to different topics and then color-code your notebooks, sections, and pages accordingly.
