Creating competency tests with the Moodle quiz module

Many companies do not like to just rely on resumes and the interviewing process. With increasing frequency companies are requiring applicants to also take competency tests. These could include aptitude tests, cognitive ability tests, personality tests, and so on. The main requirement is the test should prove to be a good indicator of success in the position for hire. Moodle's quiz module can be used to administer a wide variety of tests.

Using Moodle to create competency tests

You have gone through all the resumes submitted by applicants and have scored them based on how well they meet the job requirements. You want the top scorers to move through to the next stage of your hiring process, which is the competency test. Moodle 2.0 allows conditional access to activities based on achieving a minimum score in a previous activity. In our example, access to the competency test will depend on the grade the hiring manager gave the applicant's resume in the previous example.
