Chapter 3. Storing your notes

In this section:

Microsoft OneNote 2013 stores notes in pages. Pages can be organized in sections, section groups, and page groups. The names of sections and section groups appear in the Notebooks pane and on the section tabs. The names of pages and subpages that make up page groups appear on the page tabs. By thoughtfully building a scheme for storing notes in sections, section groups, pages, and page groups, you can organize information meaningfully and always be able to locate information when you need it.

OneNote keeps earlier versions of pages on hand in case you want to revisit or restore an older version of a page.

And, if keeping notes private is important to you, you can password-protect a section so that only people with the password can see a section’s notes.
