The following sections discuss techniques for working with the Domino design elements.

Setting and Modifying Design Element Properties

Every design element has various properties that control its appearance and functionality; for the most part, they are set using properties boxes that provide an interface for the developer to specify the settings.

To set or modify the properties of a design element, follow these steps:

1.
Open a database in the Designer client.

2.
Select a type of design element to modify in the Design Pane.

3.
Choose an element and right-click it. This opens the Design Properties dialog box.

4.
Configure settings such as Prohibit Design Refresh and Design Template Name.

Changing design properties will re-sign the design element with the electronic signature of the Notes ID in use.

Modifying Design Properties Multiple Elements

Domino 6 enables designers to configure certain design properties for multiple design elements, thus saving time and effort. To edit design properties for multiple design elements, follow these steps below:

2.
Select a type of design element to modify in the Design Pane.

3.
