Making Preferred Tools Readily Available to the IDE

New with Domino 6 is the capability to launch third-party design tools from within Domino's Integrated Development Environment (IDE). IDE is the programming interface where designers create, edit, and debug code. IDE enables designers to browse @Functions, @Commands, and script classes. When you need to use a graphics application or an editor, you no longer have to leave Designer to open them. After the tool is set up, these applications can be launched from the Tool menu within Designer. To add an application to the Tool Menu, follow these steps:

1.
Select Tools menu.

2.
Select Add Tool to open the Add Tool Property dialog box, as shown in Figure 16.1.

3.
In the Tool Name field, type a name for this tool.

4.
Select Run Program (enter path for executable) or Run Formula (use an @Command).

5.
Select the Tool Context when you want the tool name to appear in the Tools menu. If you want a graphics tool to appear only in the Tools menu when the list of images is being displayed, select Image Resource List from the Tool Context list.
