The database design synopsis is a powerful database analysis tool that provides the capability to browse, search, and generate reports for all or some of the database design elements, code, and components. The output of reports generated by the design synopsis can be sent to a Notes database or Notes document. To access the design synopsis for a particular database, follow these steps:
1. | |
2. | Select File, Database, Design Synopsis from the drop-down menu, or select the Synopsis option located under Other in the Designer pane. This displays the Design Synopsis dialog box (see Figure 7.8). Figure 7.8. Design Synopsis dialog box. |
3. | Select the design elements on which to report, the database information to report, the contents of each element to report, and the output. |
With Domino/Notes 6, hide-when conditions are now available for reporting.
In addition to the design synopsis, you can also use the DXL Transformer to export database design and database design element information as XML and then view the XML output as HTML and, optionally, apply a style sheet to the output.
