Embedded Elements: Using Embedded Views

An embedded element offers similar functionality to Web applications that Notes provides. When a view is rendered to the Web it doesn't have the same display as in a Notes client. Domino automatically adds navigation buttons to the top and bottom of the view's full screen display. Because the Web strips spaces, Column values and headings are crunched together (optionally, you can add pass-thru HTML into the column headings to remedy this). By embedding a view on a form or page you gain control over the overall display because you have full functionality of the design element—background colors, graphics, fields, and custom navigation buttons. Embedded views can be displayed with HTML, a View Applet, or the view's display properties. When displayed as a View Applet, features such as resizable columns, scrolling, selection margins, and multiple document selection are available.
