Hiding Design Elements from Different Clients

When working with a multi-client application, there are times when you need to hide design elements from one client or the other. Sometimes using different forms—one for Notes and one for Web—is more feasible than trying to create one form for both. In this case you would want to hide the form from the client who has no need of it. To hide a design element, follow these steps:

1.
Click on the design category such as Forms or Views.

2.
Select the element you want to hide.

3.
Open the Design menu and select Design Properties.

4.
On the Design tab select the client from which you want to hide the element under Hide design element from. Selecting multiple clients is allowed.

This procedure not only hides the element from the users but also from the server. Domino URL commands cannot access documents in hidden views and DBLookups cannot access hidden views. If this type of technique is needed, enclose the element name in parentheses.
