Navigators enable you to build a graphical image of folders, views, and other design elements so that users can easily find information. Normally, navigators use hotspots that, when clicked, either perform some action or open a design element such as a view.
To create a navigator, follow these steps:
1. | Open the database that will contain the navigator in the Designer client. | ||
2. | Choose Create, Design, Navigator from the menu. | ||
3. | Select Design, Navigator Properties or right-click and choose Navigator properties to open the Navigator properties box, shown in Figure 4.16. Figure 4.16. The Navigator properties box. | ||
4. | Enter a name for the navigator. | ||
5. | Optionally, deselect the Web Browser Compatible check box if you are not going to use the navigator on the Web.
