Domino has built into four design elements the choice of rendering them to the Web as Java applets rather than HTML. This presents a more efficient element that is closer to the Notes client interface. Java applets are described as follows:
Have an interactive interface
Must run a Java-enabled Web browser
Currently use Java Developer's Kit (JDK) Release 1.1.8
Require more load time
Easily enabled through the design elements' properties, as explained in Table 14.7
Design Element | Description |
---|---|
Outline | Allows the outline embedded in a page or form to be accessed from the Web. The Database property Use JavaScript when generating pages has to be selected. |
View/Embedded View | Allows use of many view features without having to render the page. |
Action Bar | Allows users to scroll and use subactions. The Database property Use JavaScript when generating pages has to be selected. |
Editor | Gives Web users the capability to change text font, color, size, and style in a rich text field. |
