The triangular images used to denote a row in a view or a section in a document that is expandable are known as twisties. The default triangle icons can be replaced with your own customized images.
Domino 6 allows you some control over how twisties display for collapsible sections. To customize the twisties for a collapsible section, follow these steps:
1. | Using a graphics-editing program such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, create a graphic with two images in it. The first image (on the left) will appear beside collapsed rows, whereas the second image (on the right) will appear beside expanded rows. |
2. | In the Designer client, create an image resource from the new graphic file you created. |
3. | Double-click the new image resource to launch the Image Resource properties box. |
4. | Enter 2 in the Images Across field. |
5. | Enable the Web Browser Compatible option if the new twistie will be displayed on the Web. |
6. | Open the view that will use the new twistie. |
7. | Double-click the column in the view that will display the twistie. This opens the Column properties box. |
8. | On the Column Info tab (the first tab), enable the Show Twistie When Row Is Expandable setting. |
9. | On the same tab, enter the name of the new image resource you created. |
For years, Domino developers have been forced to use the default twistie icon which was a simple (and boring) triangle. Domino 6 makes it possible to add your own customized twistie icons, and doing so is simple. Just follow these steps:
1. | |
2. | Open the view that will use the new twistie. |
3. | Double-click the column in the view that will display the twistie. This opens the Column properties box. |
4. | On the Column Info tab (the first tab), enable the Show Twistie When Row Is Expandable setting. |
5. | On the same tab, enter the name of the new image resource you created. |
Although customized twistie icons must not be wider than six pixels, the font size of the column text dictates the height of the twistie image. |
Domino 6 now supports customizable twistie icons for expandable items. To add customizable twistie icons to an outline, follow these steps:
1. | Repeat steps 1-5 of the previous section on customizing view icon twisties. |
2. | Open the outline that will use the new twistie. |
3. | Double-click the outline entry in the outline that will display the twistie. This opens the outline entry properties box. |
