Importing
Let’s start our modeling workflow in ZBrush by loading a mesh
generated by a 3D application and exported to the Alias .obj object
format. Click on the Tool menu and the following options are
available:

Load Tool: Allows us to load a
tool saved from ZBrush with all
its customizations made by
ZBrush, including those not sup-
ported by other applications.

Save As: Allows us to save our
tool to load later on (in ZBrush).

Import: This option opens an
import window that lets us load a
previously exported mesh .obj
object.
Choose Import and select the ogre
head modeled in Chapter 10.
When we import the mesh, a thumbnail appears below the Projec-
tion Master, showing us that the head is our actual tool. When we
click and drag inside the canvas, we create the head, then we hit T
or click the Edit button to focus on our mesh. When Edit mode is
activated, it tells ZBrush that we want to modify the object we’ve
just created. If we turn off Edit mode and draw another object (or
