Once we’ve finished the painting process we can pick up the paint-
ing by pressing G or by opening the Projection Master again and
pressing the Pick Up Now button.
UV and Displacement Map Settings
ZBrush also contains options for UV map-
ping. By default, if your imported mesh has
UV coordinates, ZBrush will respect them
and not modify the UV.
Figure 11-55 shows a UV exported from
another 3D package with cylindrical
mapping.
ZBrush offers two unique UV mapping methods: Group UV Tiles
and Adaptive UV Tiles.
Adaptive UV Tiles assigns each
polygon in the model with a sepa-
rate square within the texture
(based on size) and pastes the
squares side by side. This results
in the least distortion possible,
but it may be difficult to edit the
texture in other 2D painting
programs.
