Test Registers Relocated
On the earlier IA32 processors, Test Registers were used to test the processor's internal cache and TLB. These registers were implemented as MSRs in the Pentium® and in all subsequent IA32 processors and are accessed using the RDMSR and WRMSR instructions. See “MSRs Added” on page 512 for more information on the Pentium®'s MSRs.
