The L1 Code Cache

Services instruction fetch requests issued by the instruction prefetcher. The L1 Code Cache services instruction fetch requests issued by the Instruction Prefetcher. When a miss occurs, the L1 Code Cache forwards the request to the L2 Cache for fulfillment (over the BSB).
