Check Spelling in My Document?

image

Much like word-processing programs such as Microsoft Word, InDesign has the ability to spellcheck selected text or all text in documents. To check the spelling in your document, go to Edit > Spelling > Check Spelling. Open the Search pop-up menu at the bottom of the Check Spelling dialog and choose whether to Search All Documents (all open documents), the current Document, the currently selected Story, To End Of Story (checks from the current cursor insertion point), or just the current Selection. Use the Check Spelling dialog to change or ignore any misspelled words. If you use words that are not in the built-in dictionary, you can add them to the User Dictionary. Make sure User Dictionary is selected from the Add To pop-up menu, and then click Add. You can also have InDesign automatically check spelling as you work. Go to Edit > Spelling > Dynamic Spelling to enable automatic spellcheck. This feature doesn’t auto-correct spelling, but it will notify you of misspelled words as you type, or when you paste unchecked text into your document, by adding a wavy line under any offending words.
