Manage My Layers?

image

Now that we have our Layers panel open, let’s make some changes. In the example above, I have created a layer for each image, and each layer was automatically assigned a color. To change the color of a layer, double-click on the layer to open the Layer Options dialog. Here you can name the layer (highly recommended) and change its color. You also get some options to lock and show layers and guides within that layer. We’ll just concentrate on the simple stuff for now to get us started. To move the layers around in the stack (to change the order of overlapping images, for example), just click-and-drag them up or down in the Layers panel. You can also Right-click on a layer to open a context menu that allows you to add a new layer, duplicate that specific layer, delete the layer, open the Layer Options dialog, or select all items within the layer. Clicking on the three little lines in the top-right corner of the Layers panel opens the panel menu, which gives you a few more options in addition to the ones just mentioned. If you click on an element on a page and you can see that it’s on the wrong layer, just click on the little colored square to the right of that element’s name in the Layers panel and drag it to the correct layer.
