Turn Off the Auto Text Frame Feature?

Not everyone wants the ability to automatically turn a frame into a text frame with the Type Tool (T), especially if you have clumsy fingers and are prone to accidentally clicking in a frame with the Type Tool selected. This is a feature that can be switched off in Preferences. Just go to Preferences > Type and check or uncheck the box next to Type Tool Converts Frames to Text Frames (second option from the top).
