Customize the InDesign Preferences?

Press Command-K (PC: Ctrl-K) to bring up the Preferences dialog. You can also access it by going to InDesign (PC: Edit) > Preferences > General. There are other options listed in the menu, but I suggest starting with General. You can access all the other options on the left side of the dialog that opens. The ability to view and change preferences is one of the most powerful features of any of the Adobe apps. That’s exactly what they are, your preferences. We all like to work in different ways and this panel is where to get started.
