Use Frames?

image

In InDesign, we place everything in some kind of frame, and each frame can be edited independently. That, for me, is why it is so much easier to create great-looking documents in InDesign than in an application like Microsoft Word. There are three kinds of frames: text frames, graphic frames, and unassigned frames. All frames and shapes can have strokes and fill colors applied to them. An unassigned frame is a shape that has been created manually, and by that I mean it can be created with a frame tool and reshaped with the Pen Tool (P), or created with just the Pen Tool, and it doesn’t always have to include text or graphics. All of these frames can be resized on the go and can be altered with the Direct Selection Tool (A) or the Pen Tool.
