Change the Style of My Stroke?

There are optional settings (in addition to weight and color) for all strokes, and these are found in the Stroke panel (Window > Stroke). You can also click on the word Stroke in the Properties panel, and you will get a pop-up panel with all of the additional controls found in the Stroke panel, meaning you won’t have to open up the Stroke panel at all. These stroke settings allow you to determine the thickness and line type; the type of corner or bevel shape; how the stroke segments join: the start and end shapes of the stroke (if there are open ends); the color between the gaps (if you choose a line type with gaps); and more—there are so many options! Within the Properties panel, you can even apply special effects to the stroke by selecting the fx icon below the stroke settings. But as the usual design rule goes, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should—beware, there’s a lot to get carried away with. But have fun exploring!
