Change a Font Globally (Without the Use of Styles)?

image

Let’s assume you’ve made a document with multiple pages and all the headers in the document are a set font. You’ve decided to use a different font for those headings, but you don’t want to go through heading by heading to change them. Well, you can adjust the font globally, and you don’t even need to create character or paragraph styles to do so (you may not have set any up yet). Go to Type > Find Font, and at the top of the Find Font dialog (under Font Information) you’ll see a list of the fonts used in your current document. Click on the font you want to replace (in this case, League Gothic Regular), and then go down to the Replace With section and use the pop-up menus to choose the Font Family and Font Style you want to use instead (we’ll change to Bookmania). Now click the Change All button, and all instances of League Gothic Regular in your document will be replaced with Bookmania. It’s that simple! You’ll also be presented with this option if you open a document containing a font that is not installed on your system (see previous tip).
