Modify the Shape of a Frame or Object (Part 2)?

Go to Window > Object & Layout > Transform to open the Transform panel. You can use this panel to view and/or input more specific geometric information for a selected frame or shape, including values for position (X & Y coordinates), size (W & H percentage), rotation (by angle), and shearing (also by angle). You will also see what’s called the Reference Point Grid (circled above left). This grid allows you to ensure that all transformations originate from a fixed point on or near the object. A crosshair-style icon is displayed at the reference point in the document when a transform tool (such as the Scale Tool [S]) is active to show you where the object will be scaled or altered from. There is also a constraining link available in the Transform panel if you wish to make your changes in a constrained manner.
