Create a Table?

image

We all love a good table! In fact, there’s a whole menu in InDesign just for tables. To quickly place a basic table with default styling into your document, go to Table > Insert Table. You’ll be presented with a dialog where you can choose the number of columns and rows you’d like your table to have, and whether you want to include any header or footer rows. You also have the opportunity to apply any table styles. (Note: See “How Do I Create a Basic Table Style” for information about table styles.) Click OK, and your cursor will be loaded with the table. Now simply click anywhere in your document to place the table. Once it has been placed, you can resize it by clicking-and-dragging any of the points on its frame inward or outward. Your default font will be used when you begin to type into the table.

TIP: A TABLE WITHIN A TABLE

You can even create a table in a cell in a table—table inception! Just click inside a cell and then go to Table > Insert Table, choose your dimensions, and click OK.
