Place Images in a Grid?

image

This is a great shortcut for placing images on a page in a grid-style layout. First, to make life easier for you, make sure all of your images are in the same folder. And for the best effect, choose all portrait-oriented or all landscape-oriented images. Go to File > Place, select all of the images you want to place in a grid, and click Open. You’ll see the little image place gun, and if you press-and-hold Command-Shift (PC: Ctrl-Shift), you’ll see the image thumbnail change to a small grid. While holding down these keys, drag your cursor across the page, and when you release the mouse button, your images will be laid out in an equally spaced grid. Depending on the size of the grid frames you dragged out, the images may not fill the frames completely. In this case, just click on the Fill Frame Proportionally icon in the Control panel, and all the selected frames will be filled. This is a really cool trick for making contact sheets.
