Find Recently Opened Files?

image

Aside from going to File > Open or pressing Command-O (PC: Ctrl-O) and then browsing for your files, you can also go to File > Open Recent and select a file from a list of previously opened documents. The beauty of this feature is that you can choose how many documents are displayed in that list. Open up your Preferences (Command-K [PC: Ctrl-K]), click on File Handling on the left, and in the field to the right of Number of Recent Items to Display, enter any number up to 30. I usually set mine to 10 or fewer (in the example above, I set it to 5) so that it’s not too cluttered. The most recent document will always be at the top of the list. Another way to find your files is via the “Start” workspace, which must be enabled in your Preferences. Open your Preferences, click on General, and put a check mark in the box next to Show “Start” Workspace When No Documents Are Open. When you open InDesign, the “Start” workspace will show a number of your previously opened documents, based on the limit you chose in your File Handling preferences.
