I use InDesign’s Presentation mode all the time when I’m giving presentations. It allows you to view only your document, without guides, columns, bleed, panels, or the application frame. It can be used with single- or multi-page documents. When you’re working with a single page, Presentation mode is good for viewing the document without the clutter of the application frame, panels, or guides. For multi-page documents, it’s great to use this as a replacement for something like Keynote or PowerPoint. To enable presentation mode, press Shift-W. This gives you a full-screen view of your document. To scroll through a multi-page document, just press the up and down arrow keys, or click with your mouse to go forward a slide (or page) and Shift-click to go back a slide. Once you get used to this, you can get really creative, and it’s more flexible for creating great presentations than the standard apps.
When you’re in Presentation mode, you may not like the black background border. Want it to be white or gray, instead? In this full-screen mode, just hit G for gray, W for white, or B for black.
